Faithful and Unfailing
R. Ellenburg
Behind this trembling heart beat
Lies a fragility
Lost in the battle's heat
Hiding from a near enemy

There is a way out
I only wish could be found
A view clouded by doubt
The silence, a deafening sound

How far can one go
With wounds of such depth
Limited and so low
Love searching for breadth

But beyond my own shadow
And every bitter word
There's one thing still I know
That remains not unheard

A break of dawn interrupts darkness
Piercing light towards my direction
A gentle wave to overcome both more and less
Casting down hurt, revealing true affection

A hand unseen both gentle and sweet
Remains faithful and unfailing
Reveals the path by which we meet
So I walk again without swaying.
